This position is responsible for all sourcing and supplier compliance steps of the supply chain process in Asia for assigned categories. Reporting to the Asia Sourcing Director, the role involves cross-functional collaboration with Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Legal (Company Compliance), as well as engagement with vendors and third-party inspection/audit firms to ensure compliance with rapidly changing regulatory requirements. The role also emphasizes building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers to optimize costs, streamline processes, and enhance overall performance and profitability.
Responsibilities
● Formulate and deploy procedures governing all aspects of global sourcing, including product procurement, planning, inventory management, and supplier development, to support global supply chain excellence and customer satisfaction.
● Lead the transition to a demand-pull system by coordinating with Merchandising, Inventory, and Logistics teams.
● Monitor global market trends and material-related issues to position the supply chain for flexibility and adaptability.
● Expand supplier capacity to align with significant growth plans by identifying new suppliers and developing existing ones to boost output.
● Evaluate and monitor supplier performance through scorecards, regular reviews, and communication with Merchandising regarding non-compliance.
● Foster supplier partnerships to align with the company's vision of global supply chain management.
● Develop and implement supplier compliance policies and procedures to meet all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
● Address quality issues, ensure material traceability, and resolve problems by following up on corrective and preventive actions.
● Travel requirements: 30%, including domestic and international trips.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree.
● At least 2 years of relevant experience in business. Experience in global purchasing, supplier compliance/quality, and contract management is a plus.
● Strong judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key issues early and recognize opportunities for improvement.
● Proven ability to work cross-functionally and globally with suppliers and third-party firms.
